Ryder Mercenary for Hire Chapter 6

After the night with Ryder Quinn and Claire Wellsprings, the day came quickly as they both slept through the night. Ryder heads towards the armory and meets the biker who he met at Claire's bar.
"Welcome to my armory. I'm open for business. Now I can create some real mercenary armor for you," Simmons grins.
Ryder looks at the prices and his eyes grew wide with the shock. '250 Australian Dollars! I don't have that kind of money.'

Simmons looks up at the prices where Ryder was looking at with shock. "I can see you don't have that kind of money," Simmons grin turns into a frown.
Ryder is about to leave but Simmons puts his right hand on Ryder's left shoulder. "Wait. Actually.....I have an armor for free inside my shop. Come inside."
Simmons leads Ryder to his shop and an armor of light titanium with a New Zealand-Australian Flag on the left shoulder pad. The shoulder pads and leg pads of light titanium and brown boots. The gauntlets were also made of light titanium with a grapple spike (iron chain attached), and a laser rifle similar to the Bren Assualt Rifle used by the British, Australian, Canadian, and New Zealand Military during World War 2.
"Wait....you served in the New Zealand and Australian Army during the...."
Simmons interrupted,"The British-Argentinean War."
Ryder was amazed by how Simmons learned from the war. He was also in that same conflict as well as Simmons.


Ryder's brain remembers the British Coalition forces with New Zealand and Australia against the Royal Southern America Confederation of Argentina who were dictating the Falkland Islands. Similar to the Falkland War in the 1980's, the British Coalition and Argentina mostly fought each other in the Falkland Islands. Unlike the 1980's battle, both British Coalition and Argentina Confederation fought with laser rifles and wore light titanium armor. The battle of the Falkland Islands was intense and long lasting. Many Argentineans and British Coalition Forces fought in buildings. Dirt, mud, blood, and sweat was all that Ryder remembers of those moments of war. The British Coalition Forces finally won the Falkland Islands and the war was over when the Argentinean President Angelo Vendioso finally gave Britain the Falkland Islands back.


Ryder reacts back to reality and sees Simmons. "You remember? You' were a Private of the New Zealand Military. I was a Head General of the Australian Military until I lost my knee caps." Simmons reveals robotic legs and puts his pants legs down. "You can take my armor now."

Ryder asks,"Why do you want me to take your armor?"
Simmons looks at Ryder and says,"I'm giving you my armor for free because I'm getting too old to wear that armor and I want you to have it....for free."
Ryder nods his head and packages the armor in a cardboard box. He shakes Simmons' hand and thanks him for the armor. "Before you go, Ryder, I can probably teach a few tricks tomorrow with that armor, mate. Come back tomorrow and see if I could teach those moves. Anyway, your welcome and stay safe."

Ryder nods again and leaves to the Claire's bar.
